Update on flood!

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

Thank you for all of the texts, calls and emails regarding the skate shop!!!  We are dry as of Sunday night!!  We hope to resume normal hours on Tuesday but we’ll see if the water recedes and the bridges are considered stable.   Also, the YMCA skate park is totally flooded.  I was there earlier and there were about 5 cars under water in the parking lot.  The ramps were mostly visible but I could not get any closer than Concord–the parking lot is deep with water.  Here are a few photos of Franklin Skate Shop and the YMCA.

THIS IS A PHOTO FROM THE FRANKLIN SKATE SHOP FRONT DOOR, WITH BANK OF AMERICA ACROSS THE STREET.

HERE’S A PHOTO FROM THE BANK OF AMERICA TOWARDS THE SKATE SHOP.

MANY OF YOU SKATE THROUGH THIS PARKING LOT TO THE MCDONALDS, BUT TODAY YOU WOULD HAVE TO SKIMBOARD OR SWIM!

THERE WERE 25 TO 30 FLOODED BRAND NEW DODGE TRUCKS, CARS AND JEEPS.  WHEN THEY TOWED THEM OUT AND OPENED THE DOORS WATER GUSHED OUT LIKE YOU’D SEE IN A MOVIE…CRAZY.

HERE’S THE BRENTWOOD YMCA SKATEPARK/PARKING LOT!!!!! YOU CAN SEE THE TOPS OF SEVERAL CARS THAT WERE LEFT BEHIND.

ANOTHER PHOTO OF THE BRENTWOOD YMCA PARKING LOT IN THE FOREGROUND WITH THE SKATEPARK IN THE BACKGROUND.  WE HOPE IT DOESN’T FLOAT AWAY!!
